Poetry - "Circular Reasoning"The subliminal criminal did minimal damage At least that's how it appeared but some feared it would manage To displace the common face of the human race To alter the base of our thinking and of the old leave no trace The seed planted inside each head Was not about to lay there and then reside dead It did not remain small Oh no not at all It began to grow tall Cause old values to fall And soon conquered all So at once an old order Did dissolve in disorder A new day would dawn With the old totally forlorn But not completely destitute Its past may be absolutely up the chute But when the new becomes old And the philosophers once again become bold Then the a new theory will need to be sold And what do you know, that new theory will be - the old! The way of the world is strange, and at the end of the day we humans are to blame; For the more things we feel we must change, the more they end up staying the same.
